The Problem

A significant rockslide deposited over 3,000 cubic yards of debris on US-95, completely closing the critical north-south corridor. The unstable source area continued to shed material, making traditional access impossible. ITD needed the highway reopened within 30 days.

Solution

Our Approach

Rock Supremacy mobilized within 12 hours of the emergency call. We utilized helicopter operations to transport crews and equipment to the upper slope while ground teams cleared debris from below. High-tensile draped mesh was installed via helicopter to contain the active source zone.

Results

The Outcome

The highway was reopened to single-lane traffic in 18 days and fully restored in 28 days. The draped mesh system has successfully contained multiple subsequent rockfall events without road closures.
