Rock Supremacy contracts for some of the largest private firms in the US. Including BNSF Railroad, Union Pacific Railroad, Idaho Power Co., Amazon and many more. We also provide our services to FHWA, ODOT, WSDOT, and other public municipalities and agencies.
Rock Supremacy specializes in above ground rock stabilization which includes, rockfall mitigations systems, attenuator/rockfall barriers, rock scaling, rock dowels and boulder busting. We also perform underground rock stabilization for mines and tunnels which include rock bolting, steel set erection, tunnel notching and shotcrete just to name a few. RS also performs slope stabilization services that include micro-piles, soldier pile walls, reaction blocks, soil nail walls, horizontal drains, large tiebacks, and sculpted/stained shotcrete.
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Shop Technician to oversee heavy civil construction maintenance and repair activities. This role is vital in ensuring the proper functioning of construction equipment and systems, supporting project efficiency, and maintaining safety standards on-site. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and familiarity with large equipment repair.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy civil construction equipment within the shop.
- Perform detailed electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults and ensure proper system functionality.
- Lead technical inspections and ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
- Train and mentor junior technicians to enhance team skills and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers to prioritize repairs and allocate resources effectively.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations during all shop activities.
- Assist in the procurement of parts and supplies necessary for ongoing maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
- 5-10 Years experience via work experience or education.
- Proven experience in heavy civil construction or related fields, with a strong background in equipment maintenance.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of safety standards relevant to heavy civil construction environments.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Relevant certifications or training in electrical systems or heavy equipment repair is preferred but not mandatory.
