Company History

The Dream That Started Rock Supremacy

This vision was started by two childhood friends who were born and raised along the coastal range in Oregon. Growing up in that area they were deeply impacted by landslides, floods, rock fall hazards and slope instability.   After high school, Rowan chose to pursue a degree in Economics and Finance, and Dave eagerly wanted to get a head start on his future goals by entering the heavy construction industry.  In 2005, Rowan and Dave’s career paths connected in the underground stabilization world, and they worked closely for almost 5 years together.  During 2009, Rowan decided to move across the country for a new challenge, which led him to a career opportunity repairing one of the largest rockslides in U.S. history.   As both Rowan and Dave were concurrently mastering all aspects of rock stabilization, above ground and below, their dream came together in 2011.  By combining their thousands of rock scaling hours, cubic yards of shotcrete, and drilled linear feet, Rock Supremacy was formed in Bend, Oregon.

In early 2012, Rock Supremacy was awarded the first project they ever bid on.  By 2013, we  landed our first 7-figure contract with Oregon DOT.  By 2014, we were awarded a four tunnel rehabilitation project in the State of Washington.  2015 was our breakout year, we achieved one of our main business goals, which was to work with a Class A railroad in the U.S.   Rock Supremacy’s first contract with the railroad was a small $15,000 project to test our abilities under live track conditions.  We performed so well, the railroad extended our contract to over $5 million dollars and span over several years.   Another milestone was reached when multiple government agencies selected Rock Supremacy to mobilize immediately as an emergency contractor in response to the Eagle Creek Fire on Interstate 84, in late 2017.

By the end of the decade, Rock Supremacy was operating in five different states simultaneously for either Class A railroads or government entities at the state and federal levels.   Since then, we have completed some of the most technical projects in North America.  Our work has been featured in major National Parks, U.S. tourist landmarks (e.g. Grand Canyon and Shoshone Falls), as well as the most traveled interstates in the country.  Rock Supremacy has built the largest mid-slope attenuator system, and one of the longest continuous rockfall barriers in history.

With Rock Supremacy’s rapid growth, 2024 was another flagship year, we opened a new location in Kingsport, Tennessee. This expansion allows us to serve our clients faster and more cost-effectively.   Our new Eastern division opened the doors and enabled us to secure our first Caribbean Island contract.

Our West coast division, based in Bend, Oregon, serves all areas West of the Rockies and Alaska. The East Coast division supports projects from the Midwest to the East Coast and the Caribbean.

What began as a small-town dream has grown to an ongoing success story that fuels our mission to become the top rock stabilization contractor in the Western Hemisphere.

Rowan Anderegg

President/Managing Member

Rowan’s journey in the heavy civil construction industry began almost 20 years ago in the underground world. Specializing in tunnel rehabilitation, he mastered various techniques including shotcrete and drilling, building both expertise and resilience. Early in his career, he worked with industry giants like Union Pacific and BNSF Railroads, gaining invaluable
experience.

However, it wasn’t until Rowan transitioned to rock slope stabilization that he discovered his true passion. Whether scaling rock faces, drilling, or taking on high-adrenaline tasks while hanging from a rope, he was hooked on the challenge and excitement.

After years of working across the South and East Coast, Rowan identified a gap in the market back home on the West Coast. With its rugged elevations and unpredictable climate, the region had a growing need for specialized rock stabilization services. In 2011, he founded Rock Supremacy, driven by a clear vision to meet those unique challenges and serve the local community.

Recognizing similar demand on the East Coast, Rowan decided to expand operations. Seeing an opportunity to bring the same high-quality, specialized services to a new region, he is thrilled to announce the launch of the East Coast division of Rock Supremacy, based in Kingsport, TN.

Despite his role as a business owner requiring more time behind a desk, Rowan’s happiest moments remain those spent in the field—whether on a rope or at the controls of a drill. He eagerly seizes any chance to get back to the work that first inspired his journey.

We thrive off challenges and HARD WORK.
